New Find at the Market

This doughnut guy started showing up at the Sunday Market and we are all glad he did! A dozen tiny doughnuts made right before your eyes and then sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. J started to get a little greedy...

Then the kids had hot dogs and cheetos-we are convinced all the parents passing by were judging us. We rode home in the rain and Silas rode his own bike (not the trailer) all the way home (straight up hill)-a big accomplishment for him. And I am happy to report that I pulled Ruby all the way, plus 30 pounds worth a library books!

The Bird is the Word.

Having a little fun with fabric paint this week. Ruby got a bright yellow bird (she seems to like it). Silas will be getting a green kangaroo next week.

Breakfast time love (rare).

Chocolate coma.

Mastering Pho.

MLK Jr. brought us all (minus J) together for the day. Oh Joy. We lunched. Ruby got serious about this pho business and stuck with it until the bowl of soup was almost smaller than her head.

The Snow.

Good times in the snow last Sunday. Silas and I headed up to the Cascades with friends in search of snow. The weather has been so warm in Seattle, that we were worried we would be disappointed. According to friends, this wasn't much, but we thought it was plenty!

Big Night Out.

We had a busy night out to dinner and on to Silas's concert. We were impressed that all the kids were able to stay focused and upright for the duration. Ruby showed her support by sprinting up and down the aisle for the duration.

It may be raining...

But it's warm! And in between the sprinkles, we manage to get in a nice walk. Tomorrow night, we are off to a winter concert by the K-3 grades from school. Silas is excited to get dressed up and sing "Baby Beluga" which he practices on the trailer bike as we pedal along. We are hoping for some colder weather this weekend, as Silas and I will be off to the mountains for sledding with some friends.

Biking to the Monkey Bridge.

This weekend the weather was clear (well, no rain) and warm. We biked down to the sound and played at the beach before heading to downtown Ballard for some yummy Vietnamese food. Silas ate a whole bowl of chicken pho while Ruby discovered the delightfulness of teriyaki sauce, one finger lick at a time.

Hide and go seek in the dunes and grass.

Keeping up with the boys.

Struggling with the gear.

Oversized pink gloves, a rattle, and a small puppy dog. Essentials for every bike ride.

Updates:
Silas is officially a reader. Smart boy.
We are all addicted to our new butter bell.
Only one more Star Wars to go.
Albert is still alive.
Auntie Mumu is going to Siberia for the summer (perhaps Silas could join her?)

Out and About.

(Gas Works Park. Our bike trip destination.)

(Downtown Pier)

New Year's was nothing spectacular. We DID enjoy; a big fire, champagne, chocolate, chinese food on the Eastside, a new museum, and a bike ride over the holiday weekend. Silas is back to school tomorrow and Ruby and I are on our own. We'll miss the little rascal!
