The Straits.

A ferry ride and hour drive took us to Dungeness Spit, a Nation Wildlife Refuge. We spent the day walking on the beach and enjoying the view. To the west of us were the Olympic Mountains, to the north were the Straits of Juan de Fuca, and to the east were the Cascade Mountains. Our location was just outside of Sequim (pronounced Sqwim)-the lavender capital of Washington.

A view from our post of the northern face of the Olympic mountains (snow!)

Kubota Gardens

We went to South Seattle today and visited Kubota Gardens, a Seattle Public Park, that is a fantastic Japanese Garden. There are lots of hidden passages, bridges, waterfalls, and rocks to jump on. And the pictures we took are pretty hilarious!

We're Back!

We are home from a long vacation and recovering from jet lag and a stomach virus that eventually hit everyone (including Ruby on the plane ride home). Silas started camp this week downtown at the Pacific Science Center. He loves it!
