Celebrating a birthday tomorrow. Sure to be filled with gifts for him, picked out by us, with his money. And he'll be OK with that. That's why we love him.
Spent the weekend in the sunshine. A visit to the waterfront and TONS of yard work. Silas had a blast helping in the yard all weekend. He has his own top-notch gardening gloves and bypass pruners and helped me rip out the juniper. Then we planted two vine maples. Busy, busy. The Camellia and Lilac are getting ready to burst and we are planning for the rest of the yard.
Winter break, birthdays, taxes, yard work, Nana visit, NICE weather, and the crud that hit all of us has forced a little break from updating the blog. We are still here and getting back to normal.
Ruby's hair is finally growing out and we are trying to convince her to rock the pigtails more often. She gets excited about the idea and even puts up with them for about 5/10 minutes before pulling them out.
Our summer is set. We will be back in the Bluegrass June 25-July 7. First half in Louisville, second half in Lexington. Looking forward to an extended family reunion, illegal fireworks, and being hot as h***! To the Oregon Coast for the last week of August. Going to see what Manzanita is all about.
Last week Silas's class had a winter celebration. I joined the kids in making crafts and celebrating the snow (well, the idea of snow)! We had the warmest January on record and today on our walk, we noticed the daffodils are making a very early appearance.
