Tea Party (No, not THAT one).

Silas hosted a tea party this morning with his friends. They were all wonderful guests.

The Porch that Jeff Built.

The railing went up on the porch and completion is within grasp. A nice stain and some trim and we can check this project off. Next up, painting the front.

Today summer vacation began. The kids are out and so is the sun (sometimes)! We are trying to balance camps, school work for mama, last days with our very best neighbors, beach time, stay-up-late time, a new babysitter (who starts tomorrow!), and much more.

Eggs.

We had two Easter celebrations this year, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. The first one was a great, neighborhood brunch and egg hunt with very spring-like weather. The second one was an annual Easter brunch with old friends that included fresh crab and another egg hunt. It was a very busy holiday for us and left us with a chocolate (and plastic egg) overload.

Summer?

A couple weekends ago we hit the road for the first beach day of the year. We explored Cama Beach on Camano Island, about an hour north of Seattle. Ruby and Jeff found two giant crabs giving each other kisses and Silas smashed clams shells with a big stick for a good hour. I sat and read the New Yorker-perfect!

Filling in the Gaps.

Spring came and went quickly for us. Getting ready for summer and some consistent weather. Ruby had her last day of preschool and Silas will be done on the 22nd.
